Neon Beginnings:
In the spirit of Neon Goat's vibrant energy, could you share a moment when your teen son brought an unexpected splash of colour into your life or business?

If you know me you know that I always wear lipstick, red, pink, orange - you name it. It’s my calling card. I love how it makes me feel. Whenever I have a new shade or colour of lipstick my son always notices and comments on how good it looks. He is amazing like that.

Teen-Inspired Innovation:
Has your teen son ever given you a business idea or insight that was so brilliant it made you think, "Why didn't I think of that?" What was it, and how did it influence your business?

My son has always been interested in my career and has been an integral part of my social media. He is always coming up with new ideas and being a 14 year old, he is so plugged into what is trending online. I am always asking for his advice and he makes sure there is zero cringe when it comes to my content.

Time-Travel Tips:
If you could step into a time machine and visit your teenage self, what cheeky piece of advice would you give yourself about navigating the future, especially knowing what you do now about business and life?

This is a rather emotional question for me as I had a very difficult time as a teenager. As a family we moved around a lot and I went to several different schools across the state. I never liked school and couldn’t wait to work. I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self to study harder, and just push through as life is much bigger than school.

The Teenage Perspective:
Living with a teenager can be like riding a roller coaster in the dark. What's one challenge you've faced while living with your teen son, and how did you turn it into a positive experience?

Being 47 and starting my journey into perimenopause has been difficult but also having a teenage boy who is starting his journey into puberty has been an eye opener. We decided that because both of us were changing - that we needed to be kind to each and support each other every step of the way. We call each other when we are not coping and try to laugh it off. We call it Pubertypause and by naming it we decide to not let it ruin our relationship.

Admirable Traits:
Teenagers often teach us more about life than we realise. What's one thing you admire most about your teen son, or what have you learned from him that's been surprisingly profound?

I am always so impressed with my son that he is able to show up every day. No matter how tired, or stressed he is. No matter what’s happening in his life he always shows up.

Shared Passions:
What's an activity or hobby you love doing together with your teen son that brings out the 'cool' in both of you, Neon Goat style?

We love to cook together and as we know it is such an important life skill. He is gluten free and dairy free, so he loves to cook as he knows all the ingredients. He makes a mean banana bread!!

The 'Goat' Legacy:
If your teen son were to take over Neon Goat for a day, what innovative or outrageous product do you think he would create, and why?

My son loves a good aftershave. He knows how important it is to smell great. If he had his wish he would create a Neon Goat aftershave.

Navigating the Teen Terrain:
Teens are known for their mood swings and monosyllabic responses. What's your secret to getting your teen son to open up and engage in meaningful conversations, especially about life and your business

I never ask my son “How was school?”. This typically gets a one word response. I always ask questions like “Who got in trouble today?” or “Anyone make you laugh today?”.
Those moments in the car after school are so important and whatever information you can get out of them helps.
