Time-Travel Tips: If you could step into a time machine and visit your teenage self, what cheeky piece of advice would you give yourself about navigating the future, especially knowing what you do now about business and life?
I always say to my kids that if they really want something in life, it's only them who can make it happen. Keep going, keep being your true self, and just ride the waves as they come and go…And when you get knocked down, get up and just keep going.
Admirable Traits: Teenagers often teach us more about life than we realise. What's one thing you admire most about your teen son, or what have you learned from him that's been surprisingly profound?
Ollie is an extremely kind hearted, smart and a self-starting little (big) man who, if he puts his mind to something, really does well. I’ve seen this again recently with his basketball, and the years of dedication to daily training. I am proud of him everyday, and love to be reminded through him that if you really want something, it takes patience, practice and a dedicated mindset, no matter the weather around you!
Shared Passions: What's an activity or hobby you love doing together with your teen son that brings out the 'cool' in both of you, Neon Goat style?
We love to shop! Ollie is my go-to partner in crime when it comes to shopping… He has a very cool style, and great advice when it comes to picking outfits…. I often go to him to check a look, or get his opinion on a purchase.
The 'Goat' Legacy: If your teen son were to take over Neon Goat for a day, what innovative or outrageous product do you think he would create, and why?
Ollie would get straight to work creating something that would make him even taller than he already is! With his dream of being in the NBA, he can’t get to 6’6 fast enough!
Imagine you're launching a special Neon Goat product inspired by your journey as a parent to a teen son. What would it be, and what story would it tell?
I would definitely be making a ‘time stands still’ spritz (spray) of some kind… Ollie has grown up overnight, and I’d do anything to freeze time - even just for a second- to slow things down a little and allow a moment of stillness in our forever fast paced lives. It feels as if he has gone from a boy to a man overnight…If only I could pick him up one more time!
